SFF-2023-H2 Grant Round Application Announcement

SFF is organizing another S-Process grant round in collaboration with Jaan Tallinn, the Future of Life Institute (FLI), and Survival and Flourishing .Com (SFC), to distribute funds by the end of September 2023. We estimate that $9MM - $21MM in funding will be distributed in this round. Our two largest funders in this round are providing statements of priorities for areas which they are particularly interested in funding:

For the first time, SFF will also be accepting applications from for-profit companies seeking non-dilutive (non-investment) grants to pursue philanthropic objectives. Most or all grants to for-profits are expected to come from SFC. No for-profit grant funding will come from FLI.

Applications to this round are due on June 27, via one of the following rolling application forms depending on whether the applicant is a charity or for-profit:

Early applications, submitted at least one week before the deadline (i.e., by June 20 or sooner) are eligible to submit a Speculation Grant request (also by June 20 or sooner) to receive an expedited portion of funding via approval from SFF-affiliated speculation grantors. These expedited funds could be provided as early as one week after the request, but most internal decisions on requests made before June 20 will be rendered within 4 weeks of the main application deadline, i.e., by July 25, and most expedited portions of the grant(s) will be distributed by August 29.

Late applications are welcome, however the application evaluators will not be obliged to consider such applications. Thus, late applications will have fewer opportunities to be funded. Late applications are also ineligible for expedited (i.e., speculation) grants that would be settled (remunerated to speculation grantors) in this round..

More information about this grant round can be found on the application form above. If you have any further questions, please write to sff-contact@googlegroups.com.
